Harp Makers, harpers, & other fine folk:
My harps:
Koa "Rowan Luchair," built by Rick Kemper of Maryland (2007)
Maple & Black Walnut "Tuilleadh," built by Dave Thormahlen of Corvallis, Oregon in
1993. Dave's wife Sharon writes beautiful, accessible music, with several books
available. She also co-facilitates a harp circle which meets monthly in Corvallis, usually on
the 3rd Sunday.
Harplust List - herein find more harp sites than you could possibly imagine!
Harpists & Harpers - a nice listing of harpists around the country, plus makers, etc. I'm
there in the K section :)
Puget Sound Folk Harp Society - a great resource for harpers here in the Pacific
Northwest. Check out the Reining Harps newsletter for info about classes, harps for
sale, teachers, & more.
Heartland Harps - Pamela's music is divine! Her 'Play the harp beautifully' book series
come highly recommended.
Millennium Harper is a great project for bringing peace through music. In Jan of 2007 I
declared my quest as 'Millennium Harper to the Young Elders of Western Oregon.' I
completed it in December, with 33 events & performances around the valley! Read more
by going to my 'Quest' page for my story (& photos - coming soon!).
Interested in Tuning Forks? There are many interesting books, videos & sites! I use
Biosonics Acutonics & Intention Tuners & a few 'extras.' Ketch Wellness offers a
weighted 'chakra' set that includes the Acutonics Professional set frequencies. (the
weights on the Ketch forks are not coloured)
Animal Communication Practitioner Morgine Jurdan lives in Western Washington, &
often offers classes in the Portland are in addition to her phone consultations.
If you live in Oregon & are in the mood for therapeutic bodywork, a 'Tune up,' or a taste
of Song Medicine, please visit my massage & 'whats new' pages. Check my Ladyharp
blog for updates on where we're playing, & recent photos.
. . . Last but not least, if you're interested in more information on Celiac Disease &
Gluten Sensitivity, here are some of my favorite resources: Shelly 'Celiac Nurse' has a
wonderful 12 part series on symptoms of undiagnosed Celiac disease.
Nadine Grzeskowiak, Gluten Free RN, does consultations from her Corvallis, OR office, & is
a great local resource.
Shauna Arun, Gluten Free Girl has a book, a website, a blog, & a soon to be published
cookbook.
Other favorite blogs include Gluten Free Gourmand, Grain Damaged, Gluten Free Hippie, &
this list of gluten containing (& safe) grains. & an article on possible 'opiate withdrawal'
when discontinuing consumption of gluten & caesin!
